LEGAL
Terms of Use
Effective 15 July 2026
The short version. Your moments are yours. We need a narrow licence to store and sync them for you, and nothing more. Plus is $7.99/month or $49.99/year, billed by Apple, and it auto-renews until you cancel in your Apple settings. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
1. Acceptance
These Terms are an agreement between you and Proof covering the Proof app and this website. By creating an account or using Proof, you accept them. If you don't agree, don't use Proof.
Proof is distributed through Apple's App Store and is also subject to Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement. These Terms supplement it. Where they genuinely conflict on a point Apple's EULA governs, Apple's EULA wins for that point.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Proof. By using it you confirm you are.
3. Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google; we never hold a password for you. Keep access to that account secure — anyone who can sign in can read everything in your Proof. Tell us at support@tryproof.app if you think your account has been compromised.
4. Acceptable use
Proof is a private journal. Don't use it to break the law, to store someone else's content unlawfully, to attack or overload the service, to reverse-engineer it, or to attempt to reach another person's account.
5. Your content
You own everything you write and every photo, recording and video you attach. We claim no ownership of it.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, back up, transmit, process and display your content solely to operate Proof for you — to sync it, to organize it, and to show it back to you. That's the whole purpose of the licence. It does not let us publish your content, sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train models. It ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in backups on the cycle set out in the Privacy Policy.
6. AI-generated content
Proof generates a short title and an area for each moment, and generates weekly and monthly recaps and Work Summaries from what you saved. This is automated and stored separately from your own words, which are never overwritten.
Automated output can be wrong. A title may miss the point and a recap may emphasise the wrong thing. Don't rely on generated text as an accurate record — your original words are the record. Don't rely on it for any decision that matters legally, medically or professionally.
7. The Free plan
Free includes 3 text moments per calendar day, browsing and searching everything you've saved, and AI organization. It doesn't include media attachments, recaps or Work Summary. We may change what's in the Free plan; if we reduce it materially we'll tell you first.
8. Proof Plus
Proof Plus adds unlimited moments; voice, photo and video attachments; weekly and monthly recaps; and Work Summary.
- Monthly: $7.99 per month.
- Annual: $49.99 per year — around $4.17 a month, charged as a single $49.99 payment, not monthly.
Prices are in US dollars and may vary by storefront and tax. The price shown in the app at purchase is the price that applies.
9. Auto-renewal
Proof Plus renews automatically. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. It renews for the same period at the same price — $7.99 monthly or $49.99 yearly — unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Apple processes all payments; we never see your card.
10. Cancellation
Cancel any time in Apple subscription settings, or on your device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Proof. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for.
Deleting the Proof app does not cancel your subscription. Deleting your Proof account does not cancel it either. An Apple subscription only ends when you cancel it with Apple.
11. Restoring purchases
On a new device, or after reinstalling, tap Restore purchases on the paywall or in You → Manage subscription. Your subscription follows your Apple ID.
12. Refunds
Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases, not us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's terms and local law govern eligibility. If something went wrong with Proof itself, email support@tryproof.app — we'll help, though we can't issue an Apple refund ourselves.
13. Price changes
We may change prices. A change never affects a period you've already paid for, and Apple will ask for your consent before charging an increased renewal where its rules require.
14. Intellectual property
Proof — the app, this site, the name and the design — belongs to Proof. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it. Your content stays yours.
15. Third-party services
Proof relies on Apple, Google, Supabase, OpenAI, RevenueCat and Cloudflare, each listed in the Privacy Policy. Their outages or changes can affect Proof, and we're not responsible for their services.
16. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and who processes it, and forms part of these Terms.
17. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Proof and delete your account at any time from You → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, that we must act on legally, or where continuing would harm the service or another person. Except where impossible, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to export your content.
18. Availability
We work to keep Proof running, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue Proof entirely, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export your content.
19. Disclaimer
Proof is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated titles and recaps will be accurate.
Proof is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose.
Nothing here excludes liability that can't be excluded under the law where you live. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
20. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Proof is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost content. Our total liability for any claim relating to Proof is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.
21. Changes
We may update these Terms. We'll change the effective date and, for material changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Proof afterwards means you accept them.
